The Foreign White” came about when Patricia Turner, a feline geneticist, once saw a picture of a lilac-spotted Siamese. The photo, however, was overdeveloped, so she was inspired to start a cat breeding programme that would produce an all-white, blue-eyed oriental feline. The goal was to create such a cat without being deaf, as many other all-white cats with blue eyes can carry a gene that causes deafness.
In 1962, the breeding programme was started in England and along the way they crossed seal point Siamese cats with white British Shorthairs. This created the basis for what is now known as the Foreign White breed, also known as the white Siamese. The Foreign White cat breed shares many of the characteristics of Siamese cats. For example, they are very intelligent, with a wonderful temperament and a very affectionate personality.
These kittens are affectionate with their human companions, but they also expect a lot of love in return. Like Siamese cats, they like to receive attention, enjoy a lot when they lie on your lap and are very curious and playful.
Foreign Whites are also extremely loyal, and often become very attached to a family member. If you are looking for a cat that always wants to be close to you, this breed could be the perfect match.
Since these cats can be quite demanding and talkative, before bringing one home, you should make sure you have plenty of time to spend with these social felines. And you should also show them how much you love them by playing and cuddling with them.
