< back to Cat Breeds A to Z
The habanero, in particular, craves interaction and companionship. They are very expressive with their paws. They don’t do well when left alone.
The overall impression of the ideal Havanese Brown is that of a medium-sized cat with a rich, solid-coloured coat and good muscle tone. Because of the distinctive shape of its muzzle, the colour of its coat, its bright, expressive eyes and its large, forward-slanting ears, it is not comparable to any other breed. More distinctive than the Havana Brown’s muzzle, ears, or mink-colored coat is the Havana Brown’s personality. Although still quite rare, Havanas have gained an enthusiastic following. Havana Browns are affectionate, gentle, highly intelligent and, unlike their Siamese compatriots, calm. They are remarkably adaptable and agreeable cats, and adapt to almost any situation with poise and confidence. Havanas must have human interaction if they are to have a happy and healthy life. They crave the attention of their human companions and are not happy unless they can be by your side, helping you with household chores. Havanese love to reach out and touch their favorite humans; they often nudge their human friends with an outstretched paw as if begging for attention. Fetching is a favorite game for Havanese, and they can often be found carrying toys and lost objects in their mouths. If you’ve lost a sock or some other small, easy-to-carry object, check your Havana’s bedding. It may magically find itself there.
