Jack Chi

INTRODUCTION

The Jack Chi is a mixed breed dog, a cross between the Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua dog breeds. Friendly, playful and energetic, these puppies inherit some of the best qualities of both their parents. You can find these mixed breed dogs in shelters and rescues, so remember to always adopt. These adorable mixed breed dogs make great low-maintenance companions. They are sweet and playful and always fun to have around. Also, this mixed breed has no problem living in flats, and most are fairly calm dogs with no tendency to bark.

HISTORY

Developed in the United States, the Jack Chi was created to satisfy the desire for a breed of dog that is a great companion and can adapt to the demands of modern life. Estimates suggest that the Jack Chi was first developed a couple of decades ago, but there is little verified information on the origin of this mixed breed. The Jack Russell Terrier was originally bred in the UK in the 19th century and was used in hunting activities before becoming the family pet it is today. Chihuahuas go back even further, with 9th century Mexican artefacts depicting the breed. The Jack Chi is a designer dog breed, but many, unfortunately, end up in shelters. So contact local rescue groups and shelters if you are thinking of adding the Jack Chi to your home. It is not necessary to buy one from a breeder.
