The Himalayan breed is particularly placid and quite malleable in behaviour. behaviour. It adapts easily to a new routine and gets along well with other pets and children. other pets and children.
Himalayas combine the luxurious coat of a Persian with the striking colouring of a Siamese. Although a medium-sized cat, the Himalayan looks bigger than it is because of its long, fluffy coat. If you’ve ever seen the film Meet the Parents, you probably couldn’t help but notice Jinx, one of the most famous Himalayan cats in film history. Jinx, like all other Himalayans, is a thick, medium-sized cat with a flat face and a beautiful long cream-coloured coat with darker spots. Himalayans like Jinx are actually close relatives of Persians (some breed registries include them in the Persian class) and share their affectionate personalities. Himalayans look very much like a Persian with a mink coat. Their long, creamy coat provides the perfect contrast to their “points” (darker fur on the ears, face, legs, ears and tail). Point colours include seal, blue, lilac, chocolate, tan and cream, as well as brindle, lynx and tortoiseshell. Their deep blue eyes are the icing on the cake of this beautiful breed. Like Persians, Himalayans also have flat faces, small ears and rounded heads. Himalayans have a long, thick coat that requires regular grooming, but the extra work required is worth it because these popular kittens are just plain fun. They are loyal, curious and very affectionate. “
