Details

The Devon rex cat is visually striking and is known for its cheeky faces, tall ears and slender frames. These big-eyed cats love to play, climb and clown around. They are ideal for active owners with lots of time and attention. These super social cats love people and love to make friends.
The Devon rex is a relatively rare breed. Potential owners can expect to spend between $600 and $1000 for a Devon rex kitten from a quality breeder. The Devon rex has an elfin, almost alien appearance. It is a medium-sized cat, weighing between 6 and 9 pounds and standing between 10 and 12 inches tall. Their large ears, big eyes, high cheekbones, long neck and slender body are some of the breed’s most obvious traits, apart from their wavy coat, of course. These curly beauties have a fine, dense, wavy coat. Their coat is short all over the body, but especially short and less dense near the head, ears, neck, neck, legs, chest and belly. Their coat comes in almost every colour available, including black, blue, chocolate, chocolate, cinnamon, lilac and white. Devon rex cats may also have tortoiseshell, calico, brindle, spotted, spotted and shaded patterns, among others.
This breed is not technically hypoallergenic, but its wavy coat tends to cause fewer allergies. This is not to say that the Devon rex does not shed, as it does, but its wavy coat helps to reduce the amount of loose hairs left on furniture and fabrics.
The Devon rex is often compared to the Cornish rex, and they are similar in appearance, although their common curly coat is due to different genes. The Cornish rex also tends to have a slightly longer coat.
