Corgidor

Corgidor

INTRODUCTION

The Corgidor is a mongrel, a cross between the Corgi and Labrador Retriever breeds. These medium-sized, even-tempered, energetic puppies inherit some of the best traits from both parents and often have a Labrador-like appearance with short legs. Despite their unfortunate status as a designer breed, you can find these mixed breed dogs in shelters and rescues, so remember to adopt. Corgidors would make a great addition to almost any family with a moderate to active lifestyle. Plus, if you love the outdoors, this puppy may be your new favourite companion. They are easy going, good natured and very loyal.

HIGHLIGHTS

HISTORY

The Corgidor is probably a much older breed than might be expected. Few details are known about the history of the Cordigor, but some assume that Corgis and Labradors were intentionally interbred for herding purposes beginning in the early 1900’s.Although not recognised by the American Kennel Club, Corgidors have been recognised by the Dog Registry of America.Although Corgidors are a popular mixed breed of dog, some have ended up in shelters or in the care of rescue groups. If you decide this is the breed for you, consider adoption. Search local shelters, look for Corgidor rescues, or check with breed-specific Corgi or Labrador Retriever rescues, as they sometimes take in mixed-breed dogs and find homes for them.
