Angora

Angora

Behaviour/Adaptability

This breed is particularly demure and calm in character. Their delicate behaviour means that they are somewhat sensitive to environmental changes. They are not well adapted to travel or change.

Details

The Turkish Angora is a medium-sized cat with a slender, delicate appearance, says the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA). Angoras from the Angora Zoo in Ankara, Turkey, have a slightly stockier build, but all Angoras have a dignified and regal disposition and behave gracefully.
According to the CFA, the Angora’s coat is long and very soft, and comes in a wide variety of colours and variations. White is traditionally the most popular – and the only colour produced at Ankara Zoo – but Turkish Angoras can also be found in black, red, brown and grey, as well as brindle, tortoiseshell and bicolour variations.
Their heads are small and rounded, with broad ears and large, almond-shaped eyes in amber, green, blue or a heterochromatic combination of blue/amber or blue/green.
